Based on the 650cc platform, it looks like a bigger Royal Enfield Classic 350
Royal Enfield has filed a trademark for a new name – Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin. That is right, the lovable retro roadster, the Royal Enfield Classic 350, is going to be launched in a 650cc avatar.
The 650cc roadster has been spied multiple times already, and now the trademark application has been listed as ‘Formalities Chk Pass’, which means the Indian Trademark Registry has authenticated the trademark application documents.
Now because the bike has been spotted earlier, we know that it looks a lot like its smaller sibling – the Classic 350. It gets a similar headlight nacelle, teardrop-shaped fuel tank (which is borrowed from the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650), and a split-seat setup. From the handlebar position and the mid-set footpegs, the riding stance should also be upright, same as the 350.

It will be powered by the same 648cc twin-cylinder air-/oil-cooled engine producing 47.45PS and 52Nm as the other 650cc bikes. However, to suit the Classic’s laidback and relaxed vibe, it is likely to feature a slightly different engine tune. Oh, it even gets fancy dual pea-shooter exhausts which look pretty fancy with the chrome finish.
Once launched, the Classic 650 twin will be a one-of-a-kind retro bike in the Indian market and will slot between the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Shotgun 650. It is expected to be launched by October 2024 with an estimated price tag of around 3.2 lakh ex-showroom.
