Royal Enfield is finally ready to launch their adventure tourer, the Himalayan in India on March 16th. It took 5 years to develop this state-of-art motorcycle and has been tested on various terrains with CS Santosh. Also, Siddhartha Lal took the machine on the Himalayas and tested it to the core. We are a few days away from the launch of the motorcycle and eagerly waiting for the price to be announced. It hasn't got any competition yet, but the Austrian automaker, KTM has made the announcement about the launch of their adventure tourer motorcycle in India. The upcoming KTM bike will be based on the KTM 1190 Adventure.

As per the company officials, this adventure tourer machine will not be exported to other countries as of now, which will make the Himalayan an exclusive product for the Indian fans. The Royal Enfield Himalayan will come equipped with an all new LS410 motor, which is a 411cc, single cylinder, SOHC overhead cam engine with a counter balancer. This India’s first adventure tourer machine can run up to 10,000 kms without changing the oil. Churning out a maximum power of 24.5bhp at 6,500 rpm, the engine can produce a peak torque of 32Nm between 4,000-4,500 rpm. Apart from this, the company is silently working on a new 750cc engine that is most likely to come next year. We took the motorcycle for the ride and soon will update how this machine performs on the road.
