Special edition of the RE 650 twins get a substantial price hike over their standard models
Celebrating 120 years of its existence as a bike maker, Royal Enfield recently unveiled the special edition of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 at the EICMA 2021, Milan, Italy. Now, the company has revealed their pricing. Customers interested in buying the special edition models will have to fill in the registration form with all the necessary details, after which they shall receive a unique code which will act as a ticket to the online-only sale window that opens today at 7pm.
The special edition of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 is priced at Rs 4.50 lakh and 4.80 lakh (on-road Chennai), respectively. These special edition bikes have received a substantial price hike over the standard models as the Interceptor 650 Mark 2 and Continental GT 650 Chrome variant (both top-end colour variants) are priced at just Rs 3,47,461 and Rs 3,65,499 (on-road Chennai), respectively. This makes the 120th-anniversary edition of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 expensive by Rs 1,02,539 and Rs 1,14,501 respectively over the standard models.

For this additional premium, the special edition motorcycles are offered with an extended warranty, cosmetic and accessory upgrades while mechanically the bikes have remained unchanged. The cosmetic upgrades include a Trivalent graphite chrome paint scheme, powertrain and exhaust finished in a matte black finish, black spoke wheels with arc-shaped gold rim stickers and fully handcrafted 3-D brass badge that is further complemented by hand-painted gold pinstripes on the fuel tank.
On the other hand, the accessory upgrades comprise of an aluminium sump guard, heel guards, windscreen, compact engine guard, touring mirrors (bar-end mirrors for the Continental GT 650), brown-coloured seat with premium stitching, brown handlebar grips and handlebar brace pad for the Interceptor 650. These accessories on the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 cost Rs 18,600 and Rs 19,500 respectively.
Moreover, while Royal Enfield offers a standard warranty of 3 years or 40,000km with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, the special edition models are offered with an additional two years warranty package worth Rs 4,700.
The production of the 120th-anniversary edition of the 650 twins is limited to only 480 units. Out of this, only 120 units (60 each of both bikes) will make their way to India while the remaining are allotted for markets such as Europe, America, and South-east Asia (each market getting 120 units).
