Rider Mania, the biggest gathering of Royal Enfield riders celebrating the spirit of motorcycling at its purest, concluded at the Vagator Hilltop in Goa today after an action packed weekend. Goa witnessed thousands of Royal Enfield riders gathering from across the country with their fellow rider friends making Rider Mania 2014 edition, the biggest ever with more than 5000 participants.
Mr. Sachin Chavan, Head-Rides & Community Royal Enfield said, “Rider Mania has come to symbolize the motorcycling culture in the country. Every year, we see more people taking up motorcycling in their own cities and riding down to Goa for Rider Mania to experience the camaraderie among people that share a common passion for the Royal Enfield way of motorcycling at its purest. The attendance at this festival has grown over the years, 2014 saw over 5000 participants converging from across India, spending three days of music, mirth and odd riding skills”
Like every year, Rider Mania saw passionate motorcyclists participating in both fun and competitive events. The most sought after event at Rider Mania - the Dirt Trackrace saw participants turning up in their special race-tuned motorcycles to slug it out on a dusty, uneven race track. In the 500cc category, noted British motorcycle racer Guy Martin won the race riding a Bullet 500. In the 350cc category, Rohan Patil won the event. In the Dirt Track ladies category race, Urvashi Patole won the event. In the Trials event, Mr. Sayam emerged the winner.
The popular custom bike competition received several inspiring entries. Rider Mania is one of the most popular platforms where custom motorcycle studios showcase their passion for motorcycling through art. Every year, custom motorcycle designers build exclusive machines and preview them at Rider Mania. For the custom bikes, awards are based on 2 categories – Best Custom Bike (Judges Category) and the Most Popular category (maximum number of votes received). This year the winner of the Best Custom Bike went to Gunner 540 from Bulleteer Customs and the Most Popular Custom Bike went to Squadron from Road Rage Customs.
