Suzuki two-wheelers and Salman’s Being Human Foundation have come together to support the drought stricken farmers of Maharashtra. Together they have supplied 100 quality water tanks with a storage capacity of 2000 litres each in the drought hit districts of Beed, Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad and Nanded. As Maharashtra farmers fight back against the devastating drought, Suzuki two-wheelers and Being Human Foundation of Salman Khan have joined hands to stand by them in their hour of distress.
The drought this year in Maharashtra has forced thousands of farmers to abandon their farms & villages and migrate to cities in search of succour. This initiative by Being Human and Suzuki two-wheelers will offer a small but significant respite to the beleaguered farmers and their families. A hundred good quality water tanks have been procured from Nagpur and are being channelized to the District Collectors for a direct grassroot impact. Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, said, “The farmers of Maharashtra have been hit by the worst drought in decades.
Through our limited efforts, we are trying to extend a helping hand and a ray of hope to the drought victims. We sincerely hope and wish for the weather conditions to improve and the dry spell to end.” Superstar Salman Khan said, “This is the worst kind of natural disaster Maharashtra has faced in recent times. Through this initiative, we hope to provide relief to some of the most affected districts. A special thanks to Suzuki two-wheelers for their support towards making this initiative a success.”
