Suzuki Avenis Vs Yamaha RayZR 125 FI: Photo Comparison

We put the newly arrived Avenis against Yamaha's sporty scooter and analyse in detailed images.

While we already have the sporty-looking Yamaha RayZR and a few other options in the sporty 125cc scooter segment, Suzuki has also entered with the Avenis. So amongst the newly arrived Avenis and the RayZR 125 FI, which one should you put your money on? Let's find out with an image comparison.

The newly arrived Suzuki Avenis gets a slim and sharp look thanks to its edgy body panels and streamlined design. Meanwhile, the Yamaha RayZR looks much sharper and sportier.

While the handlebar cowl of the Avenis gets a boomerang-shaped front body panel design and a small windscreen. The RayZR gets a curved body panel and a unique 'Y' shaped LED DRL placed at the centre of the windscreen. Meanwhile, both scooters are offered with an apron-mounted LED headlight and handlebar-mounted halogen indicators.

On the features front, both scooters are offered with a fully digital Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, side stand engine cut off and idle stop-start system. However, the Suzuki Avenis also gets turn-by-turn navigation, an engine kill switch, and twin triangular shaped LED taillights. Also on offer is an apron-mounted USB charging port, and two cubby holes that can withstand about half a kg each, and get a capacity of one litre (left) and 1.6-litres (right).



The Suzuki Avenis gets an additional 0.8-litre of underseat storage than the 21-litre unit seen on the Yamaha RayZR 125 FI. Moreover,  the Avenis also offers you the convenience of an external fuel filler lid, which the RayZR misses out on.

The Suzuki Avenis is powered by a 124.3cc engine that churns out 8.7PS and 10Nm. On the other hand, the Yamaha RayZR 125 FI draws power from a 125cc engine that produces 8.2PS and 10.3Nm. However, the RayZR is also offered with an Hybrid variant that gets mild-hybrid technology to help the scooter extract better fuel efficiency on our traffic-riddled roads.

The Suzuki Avenis and the Yamaha RayZR 125 FI share a similar braking and suspension setup. The ride on both scooters is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, they both employ a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, with a linked braking setup. The size of the alloy wheels is also common on both scooters as they run on a 12-10-inch setup. The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI also gets a Street Rally variant that comes equipped with knuckle guards, a slightly redesigned apron, side panels and block-pattern tyres.

Metallic Triton Blue

The Avenis is offered in three variants: Standard, Ride Connect Edition and Race Edition.. While the Standard and Ride Connect variants get four colour options (Green, Red, White and Black), the Race Edition Variant gets the blue paint scheme and livery as the Team Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP bikes. The RayZR, meanwhile, comes in a total of four variants and eight colour options (Cyan Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, MotoGP, Racing Blue, Copper and Green).

The Avenis is priced at Rs 86,700 and Rs 87,000 for the Standard variant and the Race Edition respectively. On the other hand, the price of the RayZR starts at Rs 73,330 and goes to Rs 83,830 for the Street Rally variant. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
