There have been rumors for more than a year now for the Suzuki GW250 aka Inzuma. We were expecting the bike in India as Suzuki Motor Corporation alreasy released the GW250 in the USA and now Suzuki has unveiled a semi-faired version of GW250 at the 15th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition in Shanghai, China. The GW250S, which is being produced by Suzuki’s joint venture in China, Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle Co., LTD is boasts a half fairing to the standard GW250.The GW250S also receives a higher handlebar with the semi fairing, which provides better wind protection.
The rest of the bike is similar to the US spec bike, GW250 features a newly designed liquid cooled SOHC in-line 2-cylinder engine mated with 6 speed transmission, which generates the maximum power output of around 24bhp and a good mileage of around 30-35 kmpl. That is the reason we are expecting GW250 to find a lot of consumers among the youngsters and those looking for a powerful bike in affordable price. The GW250 has been optimized for low-to-mid range speeds, ideal for city traffic; however, the bike will also be fun to drive bike on open roads.
Suzuki GW250 will take on the likes of the Honda CBR250, KTM Duke 200. The GW250 is a naked bike, while the GW250S is a semi-faired version. We are expecting the naked version in India as it will be more affordable than the semi faired version and other rivals Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300R. The GW250 boasts high-quality finish carried throughout chassis using aluminium parts that not only makes the bike look good but also keeps overall weight down helping to increase performance, agility and economy. To compliment great performance, GW250 comes with hydraulic disc brakes both on the front and rear, and also a comprehensive instrument panel including a gear indicator, service reminder and 3-mode RPM indicator allowing you to select the gear change prompts that suits the type of riding you require, including an economy mode for changing gear to achieve optimal fuel consumption.
Suzuki GW250 is expected to hit the markets sometime in May-June 2013 with a price tag of around Rs. 1.75 lakh. To keep the price in check Suzuki might assemble the bike at its all new Gurgaon facility.
