One of the oldest brands in the Indian 2 wheeler market, Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited (SMIL) has reduced the prices of its latest entry level performance bike. Suzuki Inazuma, which was launched at Rs. 3.10 lakh on 20th January, 2014, is now available at Rs. 2.10 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
Just after 5 months of its launch, the company has slashed the prices by Rs. 1 lakh, which is almost one third amount of its previous price. Overall cost of the bike stays at Rs. 2.3 lakh (on-road, Delhi) and it's available at exclusive dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Coimbator, Thane, Panvel and Bangalore.
Suzuki Inazuma is a naked sport style motorcycle with a powerful, 250cc parallel-twin engine. Using advanced fuel injection technology, it churns out 26PS of maximum power along with a peak torque of 24Nm. The engine also gets many other modern technologies for better performance and efficiency including, liquid-cooling, balancer shaft, dual exhaust and a smooth 6-speed gearbox.
The bike gets many aggressive design elements including its sharp head lamp with positioning lamps, making a prominent statement. Tank cowls are provided with integrated turn signal lamps, while rear gets sporty dual lens tail lamp with standard indicators. Suzuki Inazuma 250 comes with a digital-analog console with analog tachometer at the center, while LCD screen and other tell tale lights on the right and left side respectively. The bike has got a contoured seat design with raised pillion side and clip-on handlebars, providing a comfortable seating posture to the rider.
The bike comes with telescopic forks at the front, while the rear gets advanced single-shock suspension with aluminium swing-arm. Suzuki Inazuma comes with wide 110/80 and 140/70 tubeless tyres on both the front and rear 3-spoke alloy wheels. For high performance braking, both the front and rear alloys are equipped with a disc brake system.
Suzuki Inazuma 250 competes with the other entry level performance bikes in the market including Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke 390, and Hyosung GT250R. The bike doesn't succeed to make a good entry in the market due to a very high price tag, however, now we are expecting better sales from it according to the respsctive segment.
