This Italian scooter packs power with presence
Italian bikemaker Malaguti has entered the Thai market with the Madison 150. This maxi scooter not only packs killer looks, but also sports a potent motor to take on performance-oriented rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and NMax 155.
The Malaguti Madison 150 blends sharp, muscular styling with classic maxi-scooter proportions. Its dual-tone paint schemes complement its design language really well and give it a futuristic vibe. In fact, it bears a passing resemblance to the NMax, though with edgier styling elements.
Driving the maxi scooter is a 149.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. However, the power and torque figures of the scooter haven’t been disclosed as yet. With a 142kg kerb weight, the Madison 150 is on the heavier side and weighs much more than the Aerox 155’s 126kg kerb weight. In theory, this would mean that the Yamaha could achieve a better power-to-weight ratio.

In terms of suspension, the Malaguti Madison gets a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers, with the braking handled by discs at both ends.
Despite a colour LCD digital instrument cluster, the scooter misses out on smartphone connectivity, which is a bit underwhelming when compared to its rival, the Aerox 155. But it does get features like keyless start, all LED lighting and a USB charging socket.
For now, the Malaguti Madison 150 will be launched in Thailand, and details about the pricing haven’t yet been revealed. However, a few publications have mentioned that the scooter is priced at 79,800 Thai Baht, equivalent to Rs 1.76 lakh (without Indian taxes and duties).
That said, the Madison 150 will not be heading to our shores anytime soon, but you can check out performance scooters like the Aprilia SR 160, Aprilia SXR 160, and Yamaha Aerox 155.
