The S1 model has now been discontinued

Ola Electric recently revealed that it has already sold 3,000 units of its latest e-scooter, the S1 Air, within a day of opening the purchase window on July 27. Interested customers can grab the introductory offer until July 30, during which the S1 Air is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom price), inclusive of the FAME 2 subsidy.

Starting from July 31, the ex-showroom price of the e-scooter will be Rs 1,19,999. Deliveries of the S1 Air will commence in early August 2023. With the introduction of the Ola S1 Air, the company has discontinued its earlier model, the Ola S1, leaving customers with the choice of either the entry-level S1 Air or the top-end S1 Pro.

The Ola S1 Air is the most affordable option in Ola Electric's lineup. It comes equipped with a 3kWh battery pack, which is slightly smaller than the 4kWh unit found in the S1 Pro. The claimed IDC range (Indian Driving Conditions) for the S1 Air is 125km in Eco mode and 100km in Normal mode. The e-Scooter features a hub-mounted motor with a 2.7kW power output, capable of reaching a top speed of 90kmph, with a peak power output of 4.5kW.

Charging the S1 Air takes approximately 5 hours, and it offers a boot space capacity of 34 litres. The suspension system comprises a conventional telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes on both ends. Ola has introduced a new Neon color option for the S1 Air, giving customers more choices.

In terms of appearance, the S1 Air comes with a flat floorboard featuring black-colored body cladding, a single-piece pillion grab rail, and steel wheels instead of alloy wheels.

The Ola S1 Air will rival the likes of the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube (base variant), and the Okinawa Okhi90. Additionally, in the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) scooter segment, its rivals include the Honda Activa 6G and the TVS Jupiter.
