Leaked Chinese document reveals the design of the next-generation CFMoto 300NK
- The bike gets different wheels, a more muscular fuel tank, and rear view mirrors.
- Expect the engine to churn out more or less the same output figures, albeit complying with BS6 norms.
- CFMoto is likely to price the bike more competitively than it did with the BS4 version.
Shortly after the CFMoto 300NK BS6 was teased in India, new leaked Chinese homologation documents have now revealed what the upcoming naked could look like. Expect CFMoto to launch the bike in India in the coming weeks.
Going by the leaked image, the motorcycle seems to feature wheels similar to those on the CFMoto 300SR faired bike. The fuel tank panels have also been beefed up, with the radiator shrouds now more muscular than before. Even the rear view mirror has been redesigned. But the headlight and engine cowl, along with the side and tail panels, appear to be unchanged. Adding to the fresh appeal are the new colour schemes. All in all, the new look seems to be inspired by the CFMoto V.02-NK concept unveiled in December 2017.

The leaked documents also reveal the design of the smaller-engined CFMoto 250NK that looks identical to the 300NK, except for the colour schemes and the engine. In the next-generation 250NK, peak power has gone up from 26.5PS to 27.8PS and kerb weight has increased from 151kg to 158kg. That said, expect the India-spec BS6-compliant CFMoto 300NK to have more or less the same output figures as before -- 28PS and 25Nm. The motor is already counterbalanced, so expect a decent degree of refinement for a single-cylinder bike of its class.
While the design tweaks are a welcome change, we feel CFMoto must expand its presence by working on building better brand awareness. We reckon that highlighting its ties with KTM’s designer, Kiska, could play a vital role in the brand reaching newer heights. The upcoming bike will be the brand’s first BS6-compliant motorcycle and will go up against the BMW G 310 R and the KTM 250 Duke. CFMoto has hinted that it will be more competitively priced than the BS4 model that demanded Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom) Fingers crossed until then!
