Top 5 Best-Selling Bikes In India In May 2024

The sales figures for May 2024 are now out and as usual, a legendary Hero bike is the best-selling one in the country. According to the latest SIAM (Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers) sales data, here are the top 5 best-selling bikes in May 2024:

The undisputed king of bikes in India, in terms of sales figures, retains its thrown once again as it outsold the second best-selling bike in May 2024, the Honda Shine 125, by more than 1 lakh units! That being said, the Shine 125 did see a healthy MoM and YoY growth last month. Hero MotoCorp put the sales charts on fire as the third one on the best-seller list is also from their lineup, the HF Deluxe. The Raider 125’s sales figures, the only sporty bike in this list, show its ever growing popularity among the masses as the bike saw a good YoY growth in sales in May. 1. Hero Splendor Plus

  • Engine: 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine

  • Power and Torque Output: 8.02PS and 8.05Nm

The Hero Splendor is one of the most legendary nametags in the Indian two-wheeler world. Its combination of adequate power and torque output for regular commuting and the iconic, familiar design having remained pretty much unchanged for decades is one of the major factors for the bike dominating the sales charts year in and year out. Recently, the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 was launched with an LED headlight unit with H-shaped DRLs inside it. It received new colour schemes compared to the Splendor Plus Xtec and hazard lights with a dedicated switch for turning them on/off.

2. Honda Shine 125

The Honda Shine 125 is priced pretty aggressively and as a 125cc commuter, it gets a twin-pod analogue instrument console that shows speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge readouts. It also gets a silent starter, a side stand indicator with an engine cut-off function and an engine kill switch.

The Shine 125’s design is pretty conservative but gets some snazzy graphics and five colour options to liven up the overall look. The upright and relaxed ergonomics make it quite effortless to commute on a daily basis.

3. Hero HF Deluxe

The Hero HF Deluxe gets comparatively more modern styling than the Hero Splendor. It gets good looking graphics on the headlight cowl, fuel tank, side and rear panels. The engine got a BS6.2 update last year making it greener than before. Also, it received new colour schemes, which freshened up the bike’s looks. The HF Deluxe is now the second most affordable bike in Hero MotoCorp’s lineup with the most affordable one being the Hero HF 100.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125, despite carrying the Pulsar nametag, is more of a 125cc commuter bike with the Pulsar NS125 being the sportier one in the manufacturer’s 125cc lineup. Recently, the bike received updates in the form of a new LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, phone battery and signal indicator. It shows speedometer, odometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, a clock, real-time and average mileage readout and distance to empty indicator readouts.
