From flex-fuel to CNG and electric commuters, the expo has it all
At the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, a range of commuter bikes will also be showcased, along with the other big bikes. These will include electric, flex-fuel and even CNG-powered commuter bikes. Commuters are the highest selling class of bikes as they are very affordable, offer high mileage figures and have low maintenance costs.
Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel
The Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel made waves last year as India’s first 300cc bike designed to run on E85 fuel (a mix of 85% ethanol and petrol). It uses the same 293.52cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the standard petrol-powered bike, which produces 24.8PS and 25.9Nm. Priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel is a standout bike not only due to its ethanol compatibility, but also due to features like traction control and a slipper clutch.
Bajaj NS160 Flex-Fuel
Bajaj Auto revealed the Pulsar NS160 Flex-Fuel in 2024. It can run on E100 fuel, with 93.5% ethanol content. It retains the same 160cc engine as the regular bike. While the bike’s official launch is planned for sometime in 2025, it demonstrates Bajaj’s commitment to expanding the ethanol-powered bike market.
Ampere Magnus Neo
Ampere EV might launch their new electric scooter, the Magnus Neo, at the expo. The brand had put out teasers for the scooter on their social media handles recently. It could get an improved range, more features, a bigger battery, and a more powerful motor as compared to the existing 2 models of the Magnus. We think it will be priced around the Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom) mark.
Numeros Diplos Max
The Numeros Diplos Max is designed for both commercial and consumer use, offering a long wheelbase and comfortable seating. Equipped with a 3.7kWh battery pack, the scooter reaches speeds of up to 63km/h. While its tech features are somewhat dated, it remains a strong option for everyday commuting with its practical design and solid performance.
Bajaj Freedom 125 New Variant
Finally, Bajaj might also reveal a new variant or version of their CNG-powered bike, the Freedom 125. Recently, it crossed the 40,000 sales figures mark within 6 months from its launch, which was in July last year. It achieved this significant milestone while still being available for sale only in 350 towns across India that have access to CNG refueling stations.
BikeDekho Says
These bikes represent the future of commuter transportation in India, with a focus on sustainability and affordability. As the fuel costs continue to rise, the sales of commuters will only increase with time.
