TVS Motors has launched a retro-fitment kit for the differently-abled at 11,237. It’s been approved by ARAI and is currently only available for TVS’ entry-level XL100 model range. It’s been designed and developed in-house, and features footrests for the pillion and provisions for holding crutches too.
The entire assembly can be fitted onto the XL100 with just six mounting bolts. A pair of extra wheels along with a rigid structure and an Armstrong suspension ensures better control and stability. The fenders covering the wheels are made from 16-inch gauge sheet metal. That said, the structure is rather light and doesn’t hamper performance by much, as per the company.
To refresh your memory, the TVS XL100 draws power from a 99.7cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 4.3PS at 6000rpm and 6.5Nm at 3500rpm.
Admittedly, the kit is only available for the XL100 for now. But it's possible that we could see such retro-fitment kits from TVS for the rest of its portfolio in the near future.
