The Ronin is offered in 4 variants with different colours & features
TVS had recently announced a discount along with the introduction of a new colour scheme for the Ronin. Now the bike comes in 4 variants and 8 colours. If you’re looking to buy a TVS Ronin but don’t know which variant to go for, then this explainer will give you a better idea of what each variant has to offer.
TVS Ronin SS
The TVS Ronin SS is the base variant of the bike and it is offered in 2 colour schemes: Magma Red & Lightning Black. The two colours are monotone shades, with the tank and side panel featuring the paint finish. Another thing to note is that the inverted fork on this variant features a dark finish.
Overall, this colour scheme looks a bit plain but given the affordable price tag of Rs 1,35,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), it is a fair trade-off.
TVS Ronin DS
The DS variant is the mid-spec offering of the Ronin and it offers a couple of different styling changes compared to the SS. It is offered in 2 colour schemes: Delta Blue & Stargaze Black, both of which are dual-tone shades. The both colours feature a white stripe that runs through half the tank with dark orange pinstripes on the sides.
Another styling bit which makes this variant slightly stand out is the gold-finished inverted fork that gives it a premium look and feel. But with the starting price of Rs 1,56,700 (ex-showroom Delhi), this is a bit pricey and only has slightly better colours and styling on offer.
TVS Ronin TD
The TD is the top-of-the-line variant in the Ronin lineup. It comes with a couple of interesting bits that make it stand out from the other two variants.
This variant is offered in 2 triple tone colours: Galactic Grey & Dawn Orange. Both of them feature a paint finish on the fenders, top half of the tank and bottom half of the side panel. The bottom half of the tank and the top half of the side panel feature a black finish. Lastly, TVS has done a beautiful job with the golden pinstripes that makes the design even more beautiful.
Now, visual differences aside, the TVS Ronin TD has a lot to offer in terms of features. This variant comes with the same offset round digital instrument console but with a lot more features on offer. With TVS SmartXonnect, the console offers smartphone connectivity and related features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts, estimated time of arrival (ETA) readouts, incoming call alerts and also ride analytics. Along with this, this variant also offers 2 ABS modes as well. It comes at a price of Rs 1,68,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
TVS Ronin TD Special Edition
The Ronin TD Special Edition is the most expensive variant out of the 4, coming at a price of Rs 1,72,700 (ex-showroom Delhi). This one is now offered in 2 special colour schemes, with the recent addition of the new Midnight Blue Colour.
In terms of styling, the grey colour scheme offers a beautiful stipe design that extends from the tank to the side panel. The Midnight Blue colour offers a similar styling, but with fluorescent yellow stripes.
Verdict
All 4 variants of the Ronin have something different to offer, but the pricing is a bit odd. The bike starts at a price of Rs 1,35,000 and goes all the way up to Rs 1,72,700 (ex-showroom Delhi). This variety will make it easier for customers to choose the exact variant that suits their budget, and also allows TVS to appeal to a wider customer base.
If you’re someone who is looking to get the Ronin experience at a budget then the Ronin SS makes sense. The DS variant isn’t really something we would recommend given the massive price difference when compared to the SS, and the only thing it has to offer is slightly better colours and styling.
The Ronin TD variant is for those who want to get the full Ronin experience, with the connected features and other tech. The special edition with its beautiful colour schemes only makes sense if you’re looking for something special and something that stands out.
Other than the colours and features, the engine and performance on all variants remain the same. It is powered by the same 225.9cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, air/oil-cooled engine that produces 20.4PS and 19.93Nm.
