As we reported earlier the innovative American two wheeler manufacturer, UM Motorcycles is ready to launch there Renegade series in India soon. Now, their dual sport motorcycle- UM Hypersport has been spotted in Pune, which hints about its Indian launch. As we mentioned in our previous report that the company will launch Renegade models first and other important models including Xtreet and Hypersport later on. However, the probability of launching Hypersport with Renegade seems to be increased now.
UM Hypersport is an on/off road, dual purpose motorcycle, which is basically designed to tackle the urban jungle. The bike gets all the features to make it a professional off roading machine like a durable and light chassis, long travel inverted front forks and rear mono-shock, high mounted front fender and exhaust muffler, a long seat with upright seating position and many more. The bike gets front and rear disc brakes for better control over bike on any terrain.
On the same time UM Hypersport also gets all the required equipments to make it legal on the roads. Its beautiful electric system includes a perfectly focused headlamp with LED DRLs, LED tail lamp and unique petal shape LED turn indicators. It gets Blind Spot Mirrors (BSM) to avoid accidents from blind spot collision. Both the front and rear alloy wheels have been covered with advanced radial tyres having Anti-Flat Sealant (AFS) which prevents punctures caused by elements on and off the road which means less down time and more safety.
The intelligent instrument console of the UM Hypersport gets many other features apart from the basic details including- fuel level programs based on the riders performance to help increase fuel efficiency, SAM system (System Auto Maintenance) which indicates when auto maintenance is required and An intermittent anti-theft light helps prevent theft. Another unique feature in the bike is USB charging port, so you don't have to wait for charging your device before the ride.
UM Hypersport comes with 3 engine options- 124cc, 199cc and 223cc, all 4-stroke, single-cylinder engines. However India might get 199cc or 223cc engine option with the bike which churns out 14.75bhp and 17.27bhp respectively. Currently, only Hero MotoCorp Impulse s the only option in this segment, but its not as much advanced as the Hypersport, which means that no competition according to the segment in India. However, the bike is expected to be priced around 1.5-1.8 lakh, which will be the criterion of this bike to compete with other options in the market like KTM Duke 200 and Honda CBR250R.
