UM Motorcycles to launch Renegade Range In India on February 3

UM Motorcycles, the US-based manufacturer has declared that they will launch two motorcycles under Renegade range in the country on 3rd February 2016. The machines will be priced between Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. Both the upcoming bikes will be based on the Renegade Commando platform and the price of the upcoming models will be kept very competitive in the market and positioned against the segment leader- Royal Enfield.

One version of Renegade Commando series comes equipped with a powerful 223cc single cylinder engine that generates a peak power of 18 bhp and maximum torque of 16 Nm and details of the other version is still a secret & to know more, we have to wait till its launch. The manufacturer will also be introducing the Renegade Commando of 149cc across the global markets, however, it is confirmed that this model won’t be coming to India.

Excluding these models, it is expected that American based company will exhibit all of its international range at the Indian Auto Expo, 2016 which will be held at New Delhi. Along with the company has finally registered its first office in Okhla, New Delhi.

Earlier, the company has showcased the new Renegade Sports S version at the 2015 EICMA motor show, held in Italy. The Renegade Sports S gets its power through a new 279cc Single cylinder motor.

The UM motorcycles have a joint venture with Lohia Auto. Manufacturing of the vehicles is under process at the Lohia’s Kashipur, Uttarakhand facility and the plant has the capacity to produce 1 lac units every year.
