UM Motorcycles Will Launch Renegade Commando at 2016 Auto Expo

UM Motorcycles Renegade Commando

UM Motorcycles has confirmed that it will be launching two variants of Renegade Commando next year in February at the 2016 Auto Expo. Renegade Commando will be the first offering by the US-based manufacturer in India. It is expected to get a 300 cc, counterbalanced, single cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 24 bhp. Other than this, the bike will feature matte paint finish, USB charging port and mirrors with blind spots. The motorcycle is expected to be priced competitively (around Rs. 1.6 lac ex-showroom) and will compete for one of the most popular brands - Royal Enfield.

UM Motorcycles has collaborated with India-based Lohia Auto who will be responsible for the manufacturing part. This will be carried out at Lohia Auto’s plant situated in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Other than manufacturing, all operations will be taken care of by UM Motorcycles. The company is presently selling bikes in Bangladesh and has already planned to set up 5 dealerships in India as a part of its expansion strategy.

Previously, the reports suggested that UM Motorcycles will be showcasing three models at the 2016 Auto Expo that is scheduled to take place from February 5 to 9. It first showcased some of its bikes in India at 2014 Auto Expo, the lineup consisted of Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport, Renegade Duty and Xtreet.
