UM Renegade Commando and Sport S teased ahead of Auto Expo 2016 Launch

The American motorcycle manufacturer, UM motorcycles is all set to launch Renegade Commando and Sport S at 2016 Auto Expo on 3 February. The company has teased a set of images of its machines before the official launch. To manufacture these machines locally, United Motors has joined hands with India’s Lohia Auto.

UM Renegade Sport S will play the role of flagship model in the cruiser line for the company. It is powered by a 279cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that come coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The fuel injected mill develops a maximum power of 26.2 bhp @ 8600 rpm and 22.7 Nm of torque @ 6300 rpm. It is fitted with 17-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels. The bike sport a disc brake and 41mm telescopic Gabriel forks at the front. The rear wheel loaded with twin hydraulic shock absorbers. It will lock horns with yet to be launched Hyosung Aquila GV300.



Renegade Commando is an elegant cruiser machine and will be offered in two version, one is 150cc, air-cooled engine that generates 16.32 bhp of power along with a peak torque of 14.14 Nm and the second one is 223cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine that deliver a peak power of 18 bhp with 16 Nm of torque. Both the cruiser machine features 5-speed transmission. For now, the company will only be introducing its bigger displacement version bike in India. Once launched the bike lock horns with newly launched Bajaj Avenger 220 variants.

Initially, UM Motorcycles will focus on its Renegade series of cruiser bikes to gain some appreciation from the Indian crowd. After that, the company will bring its naked sports bike line in the country.
