UM Lohia Two Wheelers has launched the carburetted variants of its popular models - the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S. The bikes also come with new colours - matte black for the former and gloss black for the latter. The two motorcycles currently compete with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 and the Bajaj Dominar 400 in its segment. Apart from the new paint options, the bodywork remains the same as before. The carburetted versions of the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S are priced at Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.79 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom Pune), respectively.
The Renegade Sports S and the Renegade Commando share the same 279.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with similar power and torque figures. As expected, the carburetted version makes less power (23.7PS) when compared to the fuel-injected version (25.15PS). However, at 23Nm, the torque output remains the same on both versions of the engine.
Both cruisers are equipped with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Brakes include a 280mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum. Unfortunately, there is no ABS yet, even as an option.
The Renegade Sport S is also available in Young Red, Black Silver and Young Orange, whereas the Commando is available in Matt Moss Green, Burgundy Shine and Black Shine. The fuel-injected versions of both bikes are priced at a premium of Rs 2,000 over the carb versions.
Additionally, UM has also announced various offers the festive season. Customers who buy a UM motorcycle stand a chance to save up to Rs 10,000. The company is also offering customers a PayTM a cashback of up to Rs 7,500. They can even avail a cashback of Rs 4,000 on Droom, an online 2/4-wheeler trading platform.
