Upcoming 750cc Benelli Motorcycle's Picture Leaked

A dubious picture of a new naked sport Benelli has been leaked on the internet. Codenamed "BJ750GS," this prototype could be a part of the next-gen range from the Italian manufacturer.
Benelli surprised everyone at last year's Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA) by unveiling the Leoncino scrambler, TRK 502 adventure tourer, and the fully-faired Tornado 302. The latter two were also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in India along with two completely new products- the TNT 135 and the BX 250. Furthermore, some reports were suggesting that the company is also working on some new models ranging between 125cc to 750cc for its 2017 line-up.

Haimei Yan, general manager, Benelli also announced that the company has some big plans for 2017 to expand its range, with the 500, a new 600, and also a new parallel-twin 750cc models, which will be aimed directly at the European market.
Now a picture of a forthcoming new model has been leaked on the internet, having the code name "BJ750GS." If we go a little back, the Benelli TRK502 was developed under the code name BJ500GS. So, we can say that the 750 in the name refers to the engine displacement. The leaked picture shows a streetfighter sharing a few design clues with the existing TNT range. However, you can see that the bike is based on a completely new trellis frame and the old under-seat mufflers are replaced with a big side-mounted can.
If you look at the engine of the upcoming bike in the leaked picture, you will notice that it looks almost similar to Benelli's existing three-cylinder mills which are used in the TNT 899 and the TNT R. Here it raises a doubt about the picture as Benelli's company officials had announced plans for a parallel-twin earlier.
If the existing engine will be used, the cost of the de-stroked or sleeved down cylinders will increase, while smaller pistons aren't going to save much either. However, the company will save on the design and development cost of the new motor and cutting capacity could also allow to use cheaper components and materials. The company could also save in other cycle parts as the bike will be developed for cost effective markets as well.
