It was quite an action-packed week for two-wheeler enthusiasts
As the festive (and riding) season edges closer, two-wheeler manufacturers have started planning their course of action. Consequently, this led to an action-packed week for two-wheeler enthusiasts as we saw many spy shots, new reveals and some much-awaited announcements. Couldn’t keep up with it all through the week? Well, lucky for you, here’s our weekly news wrap up to the rescue:
All Eyes On Yamaha
Yamaha took all the limelight this week. First, it launched the MT-15’s MotoGP edition wrapped in the striking Monster Energy livery. Then, leaked documents revealed that the Japanese giant is planning to launch the new R15, R15M and the Aerox 155 scooter (more details in our story) in India. And most recently, the upcoming 2021 R15M was spotted at a dealership event, revealing its new design.
All in all, it seems Yamaha is all set to up its game in 2021 and shake up the market with these new offerings.
The New Classic 350 Has Launch Date
After what felt like an eternity, Royal Enfield will finally launch the 2021 Classic 350 on September 1, 2021. The new Classic 350 will arguably be its best self yet. It’ll get subtle styling tweaks, new colour options, new switchgear, updated seats for more comfort and finally a semi-digital instrument with a fuel gauge. The key highlight, though, will be its new 349cc engine, straight from the Meteor 350, which should make it a bit faster and a lot more fun. Owing to these changes, the new Classic 350 would also get slightly pricier. Curious how much it’d cost? Here’s our price analysis to give you a realistic idea.

2021 KTM RCs Incoming
Well, we’ve been saying this for quite some time but this time, the news is official. Yes, KTM has finally teased the 2021 RC lineup on social media, hinting at an imminent launch. Bear in mind, the new RC 390, RC 200, and the RC 125 were recently leaked online so we already know they’ll get a new design language, new tech, and updated underpinnings. Triumph Tiger Sport 660 Teased
Just when we thought Triumph was done introducing new bikes, the British bike maker teased its smallest motorcycle bearing the “Tiger'' name, called the Tiger Sport 660. As the suffix suggests, the bike will be a soft-roader based on the Trident 660 and borrows many components like the suspension, engine, and brakes from it. The key change here is the addition of a new semi-fairing with a tall visor and a twin-pod LED headlamp. We expect Triumph to unveil the motorcycle globally at EICMA, somewhere in November. For more details about the most affordable Tiger, check out our story.
New Kawasaki Retro Bike Teased
Kawasaki has teased a new retro bike by posting a video on YouTube which reads “Retrovolution is coming”. We believe the bike is based on Z900RS but with a smaller engine drawn from the Ninja 650 and could be called the Z650RS. Considering the Z900RS is quite popular in international markets but can be a little intimidating for newer riders, the Z650RS would make perfect sense in the lineup. And we also believe, if it is indeed the Z650RS, it would come to India too, priced right between the Z650 and the Ninja 650. Read all about it in our story.
