This week has been pretty action-packed with interesting news both locally and on the global level
While the Tokyo Motor Show stole the headlines globally this week, there have been interesting developments in the home turf too. From launches to unveils, here are our top five picks from the world of two-wheelers this week:
Benelli Imperiale 400 Launched:
Benelli launched its retro-modern machine, the Imperiale 400 at a pretty competitive price. It goes head-to-head with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, but this motorcycle features a slightly bigger engine and fuel injection too! However, things aren’t completely rosy as it seems.
BS6 Honda CB Shine SP Specifications Leaked:
Documents containing the specs of the BS6-compliant Honda CB Shine SP have leaked online. When most of the manufacturers’ bikes have a small drop in power, things are the other way around for the Shine. The document also reveals another interesting aspect of the design of the motorcycle.
BS6 Yamaha Fascino Launch Details Revealed:
Yamaha has sent out a launch invite and we have a strong feeling that it is going to be the BS6-compliant Fascino. That’s because the scooter has been spotted testing already. Also, Yamaha is likely to unveil other BS6-updated two-wheelers along with the Fascino!
Husqvarna India Launch Delayed:
The BS4-BS6 transition has had some detrimental effect on Husqvarna’s VItpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 launch timeline. The brand has decided to launch the bikes post the implementation of the emission norms. Here’s the full report.
Kawasaki ZX-25R Unveiled:
This year’s Tokyo Motor Show was pretty mild as most manufacturers concentrated mostly on electric vehicles. However, Kawasaki stood like the green beacon of hope with the unveiling of one of the maddest quarter-litre motorcycles, the Ninja ZX-25R. It's got four cylinders and packs premium underpinnings and electronics that you usually find only on much bigger bikes!
