Again, the two-wheeler market got some interesting updates this week like Benelli TNT 25 launched in India, TVS Apache 200 spied more clearly, petrol prices dropped and much more. Benelli TNT 25 Launched in India at Rs. 1.68 Lac

DSK-Benelli has launched its smallest displacement and only single cylinder motorcycle, Benelli TNT 25 in India today with a starting price of Rs. 1.68 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is launched in two variants with the Premium trim being priced at Rs. 1.75 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). The difference between both variants is in the tyres. Where the Standard variant uses MRF tyres, the Premium trim features grippier Metzeler rubber. Similar to other Benelli motorcycles, it will be brought through Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and will be assembled locally at DSK Motowheels factory in Pune, Maharashtra. The company has introduced this offering as an entry-level performance motorcycle. First showcased at 2015 India Bike Week, the motorcycle was also presented at the 2015 EICMA. TNT 25 will rival the likes of Mahindra Mojo 300 and KTM Duke 390. Petrol and Diesel Prices Reduced

Petrol and Diesel Price Reduced

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have cut down petrol and diesel prices by 50 paise per litre and 46 paise per litre respectively. After this cut, the cost of petrol is Rs. 59.98 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 46.09 per litre in Delhi. The decrease in prices come as a result of a fortnightly revision that will take place regularly from now on to align the fuel prices in the international and domestic market. Fuel prices majorly depend on two factors - the exchange rate of currency and price of crude oil in the international market, the cut in fuel costs is a result of decrease in price of crude oil. Earlier this month, the price of crude oil showed a drastic decrease, from Rs. 2725 to Rs. 2304. The fuel price could have gone down more if the Indian rupee had not been depreciating. Read More

Recall Announcement: Suzuki GSX-S1000F and GSX-S1000 Recalled Over Front Brake Fluid Leak Issue

Suzuki, the Japanese manufacturer is recalling its two sports bikes - 2016 GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F from the US market due to a technical glitch that has resulted in fluid leakage from the front brake calipers. In all 600 faulty units will be recalled including 489 units of GSX-S1000 that were manufactured between July 8, 2015 and August 24, 2015.Besides this, 111 units of GSX-S1000F produced between July 21 and July 27, 2015 have also been put on recall. While other units that were manufactured after these dates remain unaffected. Read More

UM Motorcycles to launch Renegade Range In India on February 3

UM Motorcycles, the US-based manufacturer has declared that they will launch two motorcycles under Renegade range in the country on 3rd February 2016. The machines will be priced between Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. Both the upcoming bikes will be based on the Renegade Commando platform and the price of the upcoming models will be kept very competitive in the market and positioned against the segment leader- Royal Enfield. With the launch of Maestro Edge and Duet, Hero Motocorp is eyeing to increase its market share in scooter segment from 14 to 20 percent. Presently, Hero dominates the motorcycle segment with 50 percent of market share followed by Honda and Bajaj. Recently, Maestro Edge became the company’s highest selling scooter till date, which clearly shows that Honda has finally got something to worry about in the scooter segment.
