Here’s everything that has transpired over the last week wrapped up into one story
Last week witnessed quite some action, particularly in the budget enthusiast segment. Piaggio went all out and updated its Aprilia and Vespa 150 range with new features and colours. There have been some interesting developments regarding the RS 150 and the Tuono 150 too. Bajaj seems to be working hard in preparation for future regulations. Let’s get into the details of this week’s two-wheeler news.
Piaggio launches the 2019 Aprilia SR 150 and Vespa 150 range in India:
Piaggio, the parent company of Aprilia and Vespa launched the updated versions of its popular scooter range, the Aprilia SR 150 and the Vespa SXL & VXL 150. The Aprilia features an analogue-digital combo cluster, adjustable rear suspension, fresh new graphics and is available with official accessories too. The Vespa on the other hand gets new colour schemes. Both the scooter range now come with smartphone connection capability using an app. Here’s what it exactly offers.
Cleveland motorcycles’ pricing revealed:
Cleveland Cyclewerks revealed the prices of the two debutants, the Misfit and the Ace Deluxe. Both the motorcycles enter the country as CKD units from China with 6-7 per cent localisation. The Ace Deluxe is priced at Rs 2.24 lakh while the Misfit costs Rs 2.5 lakh, both ex-showroom, India. Though these motorcycles are priced at a premium, there’s something which doesn’t quite justify their price tags. You can read about it here.
Aprilia 150cc twins launch strategy rejigged:
The Tuono 150 and the RS 150 from Aprilia made their debut at this year’s Auto Expo. However, with the launch of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0, the Italian marque seems to feel that they can do a lot better than the 150cc twins, and hence the bikes are not going to be launched in India. However, they are planning to offer the Indian customers something much better, whose details can be found here.
Bajaj prepares for the future:
The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 was spotted testing. The major change is the inclusion of upside down forks up front and a redesigned twin-exit exhaust. It also gets very subtle changes in the graphics. Here’s our detailed analysis of the spy shot.
Against the backdrop of impending ABS norms, Bajaj has been testing the ABS variant of the Pulsar 150. The test mule’s appearance suggests that it is the rear disc variant, and the ABS is likely to be a single-channel unit. Is it just the inclusion of ABS or is there anything more to the motorcycle? Find out here.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 rear disc variant launched:
Royal Enfield has silently introduced the rear disc variant of the regular Classic 350. With this, the entire Classic 350 range gets rear disc, but ABS is reserved only for the Signals Edition for now. Here are the details about pricing, offers and availability.
