Chinese brand Dayang has thrown in a TFT console with a front and rear camera on the ADV150 too
- Chinese clone is called the Dayang ADV150.
- Comes with the same design as the real deal but with minor tweaks.
- Even gets a tyre pressure monitoring system.
- Is exclusive to the Chinese market.
Chinese manufacturer Dayang has come up with a blatantly obvious copy of the Honda ADV150, called the Dayang… wait for it… ADV150! While the scooter looks exactly like the real deal from the Japanese brand, a closer look reveals a few changes here and there.
The headlamp is a projector unit instead of the all-LED unit that the Honda ADV150 uses. Even the apron gets a set of tiny ‘lips’ just below the headlamp for a sportier look. The tail light is LED but its design is different too. Unlike the full-LCD instrument cluster on the original, this one comes with a more sophisticated full-TFT unit, that too with a tyre pressure monitoring system and a front and rear camera to record your rides.
Powering the Chinese scooter is a 150cc single-cylinder motor which makes 16.4PS at 8500rpm and 14.6Nm at 6500rpm. In comparison, the Honda ADV150’s 149cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine is slightly less powerful and torquey, churning out 14.5PS and 13.8Nm.
Dayag has replicated the same underpinnings in its Chinese clone. It features a telescopic front fork, twin rear gas-charged shock absorbers, a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-incher at the rear, both wrapped with dual-purpose tyres. It also gets a petal disc on both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Overall, the Dayang ADV150 seems to be quite feature-packed for a scooter of its segment. Since the brand already has the manufacturing expertise to make such a premium-looking scooter, we just hope it uses its own creativity in the future and comes up with uniquely designed, equally feature-packed offerings.
