Yadea C1S Electric Scooter Unveiled At EICMA 2019

Yadea has unveiled a new electric scooter called the C1S at EICMA. It has been designed by KISKA, the same firm that has penned the lines for current-generation KTMs. According to Yadea, the inspiration for the C1S came from retro supercars. While the design is unmistakably retro, the scooter gets modern tech and features.

It gets all-LED lighting with the headlamp having self-levelling technology. Interestingly when lit, the tail lamp displays the Yadea logo. hen you have features like a modern LCD screen, keyless ignition, inbuilt GPS and GPRS sim, which allows you access to the scooter’s controls via an app. The app gives you access your vehicle’s functions, monitor batters statistics and can also set up a geofence for your scooter.

The C1S gets a large 6kW electric motor which promises instantaneous acceleration and a top speed of 80kmph. The side-mounted motor gets tech like energy recovery, which basically is battery regeneration. It charges the battery when the scooter is decelerating or going downhill. For charging, the C1S gets two 72V-20 Ah lithium-ion batteries. Claimed range is over 100km. It gets an advanced battery management system that optimises charging times while maintaining battery health.

For underpinnings, the scooter has a tubular steel frame with front forks and dual shock absorbers. It gets disc brakes at both ends.
While it is highly unlikely that we will see the Yadea C1S launch in India anytime soon, we do have similar high-tech electric scooters sold here, like the Ather 450 and upcoming 22Kymco iFlow.
