Take a closer look at the Indian-spec Aerox 155 via these real-world images

Surprising everyone, Yamaha recently launched the Aerox 155 in India. Now, the scooter has reached dealerships and here’s closer look at it in the flesh:

The Aerox 155 is Yamaha’s most premium scooter in India.

It bears a polarising maxi-scooter design and gets a broad fascia equipped with twin-pod LED lights.

The sporty fascia is complemented by edgy plastic bodywork, which houses the apron-mounted indicators and lends the scooter a muscular appeal.

In the middle, you get a 790mm high scooped single piece seat.

Towards the rear, the scooter slims down and gets a small yet sharp LED tail light.

Yamaha Aerox 155: Which Colour To Pick?

The Aerox 155 is offered in three colours: Racing Blue, Grey Vermillion, and a Monster Energy Yamaha livery.

Yamaha has packed the Aerox 155 with an extensive feature-list, which include LED illumination, external fuel filler cap, remote boot lock/unlock, and ABS.

We particularly like how the fuel filler cap is neatly integrated between the handlebar and the seat, a place where we’re to rest our feet in most Indian scooters.

Also part of the package is a well-laid out digital LCD instrument cluster, equipped with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-connect app.

The Aerox 155 stands tall on the practical front too, thanks to its front cubby storage and big 26.5-litre underseat storage.

The main highlight, however, is the Aerox’ powerhouse. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine drawn from the R15 V4 but detuned to make 15PS and 13.9Nm. Nevertheless, this makes the Aerox 155 the most powerful BS6 scooter on sale in India.

It rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels clamped by a disc brake up front along with a drum brake at the rear.

Like any other scooter, the Aerox is sprung on a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers at the rear.

Prices of the Yamaha Aerox 155 start from Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes it around Rs 3,000 costlier than the Aprilia SXR 160, which makes less power and gets less features, giving the upper hand to the Aerox 155.

Deliveries for India’s fastest scooter is expected to commence by the end of this month or in November during the festive season.
