You can still buy the bikes from your local Yamaha dealer

Due to the onslaught of the second Covid-19 wave in the country, Yamaha India has suspended its two-wheeler manufacturing operations at the Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu) and Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) plants. As of now, the facilities will be closed from May 15 to 31.

However, the brand will continue working with its suppliers and dealers to manage inventories. This should help the Japanese manufacturer avoid stockpiling. Yamaha has also clarified that its corporate and office employees will continue working from home.

The resurgence of the pandemic in India has resulted in a substantial drop in sales numbers. The need of the hour is to keep the volume in check and move stock accordingly. This will not only aid the overall distribution process but also mitigate the losses to an extent.

Once the localised lockdowns are lifted, we can expect the brands to resume full-fledged operations. In a related development, Yamaha’s latest member, the FZ-X, has been spotted in India. Here’s all you need to know about it.
