Yamaha has revealed the specifications and price of Yamaha MT-10, which is a naked version of YZF-R1. First unveiled at Milan in November 2015, the company has recently revealed its specifications and price. Due to its ‘Transformer’ like looks, this motorcycle has been a centre of attraction whenever it was showcased. Yamaha has finally given an indication that this bike will be launching soon by informing about its specifications and price. This comes as a good news for motorcycle enthusiasts across the globe as most of us have been waiting to see it growl on roads.
MT-10 will be priced at 9999 UK Pounds (around Rs. 9.6 lac) and will arrive at the UK dealerships around May this year. The motorcycle will compete with the likes of BMW S1000R, Aprilia Tuono V4 1100, Kawasaki Z1000, Suzuki GSX-S1000 and Triumph Speed Triple R in the international market. This new MT-10 houses a differently tuned YZF-R1’s 998cc inline-four CP4 engine which generates a power output of 158.2bhp at 11,500rpm with a torque of 111Nm at 9,000rpm. Coming to the features, it gets a three-level traction control system, three rider mode options, cruise control, Yamaha’s slip and assist clutch and a full LCD dash.
The company recently launched the first bike of its MT series, MT-09 in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. Priced at Rs. 10.2 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), this bike has an 847cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, in-line three-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which produces 113bhp at 10,000rpm and 87.5Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. The bike is coming to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is available in two paint schemes - Race Blue and Matt Grey. Having launched MT-09 in February, Yamaha has introduced the Indian biker colonies to its legendary MT series. Sadly though, it seems like Yamaha will take its own sweet time to analyse how the Indian bikers react to these premium naked machines and will then plan on introducing the MT-10 in the country. We will have to just wait and watch what Yamaha has planned for this bike in the Indian market.
