- We expect it to be priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha’s upcoming street naked bike, the MT-15, has been in the news for some time now. After multiple sightings and an official teaser released recently, Yamaha will launch the MT-15 in India tomorrow. Unofficial bookings for the street naked motorcycle are already underway for a booking amount of Rs 5,000. While official prices aren’t out yet, we expect the MT-15 to be priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, the MT-15 is the only naked motorcycle in the 150cc category with a liquid-cooled engine and the only direct rival it has is the KTM 125 Duke.
The India-spec model will feature conventional telescopic forks and a box-type swingarm instead of USD forks and cast aluminium swingarm seen on the Indonesia-spec model.
Powering the MT-15 is the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor as the R15 V3.0. The engine produces 19.3PS of power and 14.7Nm of max torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Braking hardware will consist of disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.
We will be reporting live from the launch event tomorrow, so stay tuned to BikeDekho for all the latest updates.
