[UPDATE: Yamaha has launched the MT-15 at a price of Rs 1.36 Lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi]
Yamaha’s naked streetfighter machine that is making top auto headlines now a days has been spotted again doing rounds in Indonesia, recently. The bike is rumoured to be the naked version of the company’s popular entry-level performance bike - the R15. Christened as MT-15, the bike might make its entry to India soon if the company finalises this prototype as the final product.

Yamaha MT-15 is seen with a set of Upside Down front suspension setup, which is not seen in any smaller capacity Yamaha bike till now. This will be interesting to see as its sportier version R15 still uses the conventional shock absorbers to carry out suspension duties. Like the latter, the bike might come bolted on the same deltabox frame to give a track focussed riding experience. The alloy wheels carry a fresh design and the engine is guarded by a robust belly cover that looks astonishing.

Talking of mechanicals, the MT-15 will draw its power from the same 149cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder motor that currently empowers the R15. However, there might be a slight boost in power figures to enhance the overall performance of the bike. The body styling has been completely inspired from the elder naked Yamaha members like MT-25 and MT-09. The Japanese manufacturer launched the single seat variant of the R15 few days ago. When asked about it, the officials told that the bike has been made due to continuous customer feedback to develop one. At the same time, while talking about the Yamaha MT-15, they clearly denied the plans of bringing it to India at present.
