The Japanese auto major Yamaha has finally unveiled the prototype of the awaited Yamaha R25 at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013. Instead of taking inspiration from YZF-R1 like YZF-R15, the new prototype is based on the company's MotoGP racing machine YZR-M1. So the bike is based on the concept- "a superbike you can ride every day".
The bike uses a new 249cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, inline twin engine with fuel injection on a lightweight, slim and compact chassis. Mated with a six speed gearbox, the engine is expected to churn out a maximum power output of around 34bhp. Overall dimensions of the prototype are 2,000mm X 720mm X 1,140mm (Length X Width X Height).
The Yamaha R25 is positioned as an entry-level performance sport bike for developed markets like Japan and Europe, and as a top performance sport bike for emerging markets, primarily throughout Asia.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to BikeDekho for all the updates on the same.
