The upcoming Yamaha vehicle, Yamaha Ray, the scooter that was revealed during Auto Expo earlier this year by John Abraham, started with bookings a few days back, has not yet been borne, but is already shining like a blockbuster. Ten days into booking and it has already won 5000 units of booked. Expected launch date of the scooter is somewhere in the mid-September, we are guessing it will be launched on 14 of this month. With the overwhelming response that the company has received on the basis of the pre-booking of this two wheeler that has special focus on girls and women, Yamaha is expecting huge returns. The association of Deepika Padukone with Yamaha has helped the name fly leaps and bounds, which is another factor for the scooter to have gained this much of hype.
There has been the best of response from the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and also from Tamil Nadu, Kerela, Andhra Pradesh. The National Business Head of Yamaha, Roy Kurian, has to say the following, “We have already clocked 5,000 bookings with a down payment of Rs 5,000-10,000 across our dealer network. There has been an overwhelming response, especially from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and southern markets including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.”
This is a scooter from the same brand that brought a revolution in the biking world with it's performance bike at entry level, the 2.0 version of YZF R15. And now it brings the RAY, to be spread all over shining as brightly as it can. And at what price! Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000. Yamaha plant in Surajpur, Greater NOIDA, U.P., will be producing this model, 6 lakh units annualy. The company is not wrong to expect to touch a sales figure of as high as 10 lakh unit, thanks to the Ray.
More to come about the scooter soon. Watch out for all updates!
