With stricter emission norms all set to kick in from next year, two-wheeler manufacturers are busy updating their model lineups. Apart from Yamaha, no other bike maker is yet to announce its detailed timeline regarding the launch of BS6 models. The Japanese bike maker has announced that it will launch BS6 motorcycles from November and scooters from January next year.
The updated models will be around 10-15 per cent more expensive compared to the current models. Just to put things into perspective, currently, the FZS-Fi Version 3.0 retails at Rs 98,180; however, the BS6 model will retail from Rs 1.07 lakh to Rs 1.12 lakh. The R15 V3.0, on the other hand, could be priced from Rs 1.57 lakh to Rs 1.64 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). To make sure that this price hike doesn’t come across as too steep, the company will also be offering the side stand indicator on select models.
