Yamaha YZF-R1 being recalled for Lead coupler defect in India

Yamaha Motors, the global two-wheeler giant has found a technical default in its flagship racing machine, Yamaha YZF-R1 and has recalled all the bikes in India, which were manufactured between the time period of October 2008 and August 2013. As they have found a problem in the lead computer present in the headlight with respect to overheating and melting. This problem can result into arcing and can further lead to potential short circuit. Meanwhile, XT1200Z Super Tenere along with R1 has also been recalled for the same issue persisting, globally.
Yamaha seeing it as its fault is going to replace the headlight sub lead of all the related motorcycles for free. In addition, the new headlight sub lead will be a modified ones. The company has also requested the owners of YZF-R1 to not to use their machines until the replacement is made.
