Yamaha Motor India has showcased its latest 900cc bike in India at Auto Expo 2025 - the MT-09. The Yamaha MT-09 is a naked streetfighter bike from the Japanese manufacturer and might be launched in India soon.
Design
The Yamaha MT-09 is a naked bike, which comes with an aggressive streetfighter design. The MT-09 provides a more upright and relaxed body posture. It also comes in three colour schemes: Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black. The MT-09 also has an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) variant.
Engine
The Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine which produces a peak output of 119PS at 10,000rpm and 93Nm at 7,000rpm. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
Features
The MT-09 get a 5-inch TFT instrument console, with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s MyRide App for call/SMS alerts and navigation. Both bikes get three ride modes: Street, Sport and Rain, along with 2 pre-set custom modes. The MT-09 SP additionally gets four track modes.
The MT-09 comes with cruise control, lean-sensitive traction control, wheelie control, lean-sensitive ABS, self-cancelling indicators and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). The Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission) variant also gets a gear-shift switch on the left side of the handlebar.
Underpinnings
The Yamaha MT-09 has a Deltabox frame, equipped with a fully adjustable KYB inverted fork and a fully adjustable monoshock. However, the MT-09 SP variant gets a fully adjustable Ohlins monoshock.
The braking system on the Yamaha MT-09 is equipped with dual 298mm front discs with radially mounted Brembo calipers and a 245mm rear disc brake, fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 120-section front and 180-section rear tubeless tyres.
Expected Launch Date & Price
The Yamaha MT-09 is likely to launch in India by the end of 2025, likely to cost around Rs 12 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi).
