Okinawa Praise Summary
Okinawa will launch a new version of the Praise dubbed the i-Praise. The new e-scooter will get a lithium-ion battery unit compared to the lead-acid battery in the standard Praise. So we can expect a lighter kerb weight and faster charging times than the Praise. Okinawa is likely to price the i-Praise at a premium over the standard Praise. As for launch, the expected timeframe is January 2019.
The Okinawa Praise has finally made its way to the Indian electric two-wheeler market. The company claims that it can run 170km to 200km on one single full charge, which is incredible. It is the second offering from the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturing company after Ridge. Claimed top speed is 75Kmph. The Okinawa Praise is priced at Rs <onroadprice> (On road, <city>) and comes loaded with features, unlike its sibling which is an entry-level e-scooter. The new Praise is a premium offering that sports features like Anti-theft function, keyless start option, remote locking, a location tracker device called ‘Find My Scooter’, a mobile charging point. Adding to the features on this electric scooter, there is a fully digital instrument console, front and rear disc brakes and energy-efficient LED lights. On the mechanical front, it is powered by a 72 Volt/45Ah lead-acid battery that is good enough for 3.5bhp power and a massive 40Nm of peak torque. The figures are enticing especially the torque output that’ll keep buyers interested. There are three dual colour tones on offer including Glossy Purple/Black, Matte Blue/Black, and Matte Golden/Black. The Okinawa Praise competes against the likes of Hero Electric Wave, Hero Electric Optima and the Avon E Scoot in the Indian electric scooter market.

Praise Expert Review
Overview
Okinawa is set to launch the iPraise electric scooter that features a lighter detachable battery. It has already started accepting bookings for the same. The Okinawa Praise is a feature-packed electric scooter. It features a conventional design and gets apron mounted LED headlamps. It comes loaded with features. they include digital instrument console, Anti-theft sensor and mobile charging point. Highlights of the scooter include its claimed top speed of 75kmph, a range of 170-200km, The scooter is heavy though, owing to the lead acid battery pack it comes fitted with. The Okinawa iPraise though comes with a much lighter lithium-ion battery pack.
It has an odd seating position due to the abnormally high floorboard as the battery pack is mounted there. It gets two riding modes: an eco mode and Sporty. It also gets a turbo mode button that gives the motor a momentary boost that is enough to overtake slow vehicles. It also gets reverse assist.
It gets front telescopic and rear gas charged shock absorbers. Braking is via uniquely mounted twin discs at the front. The Okinawa Praise is priced at Rs 59,899 (ex-showroom Delhi). This electric scooter is quite practical and should serve as a replacement for conventional scooters if you are willing to compromise on some aspects.
Design
The Okinawa Praise looks like a practical daily commuter. It is available in Glossy Purple/Black, Matte Blue/Black, and Matte Golden/Black.
It gets an LED headlamp with DRLs and a fully digital instrument cluster with a blue backlight. The console displays speed, battery level and trip meter. The silver accents over the dash are nicely done and add to the scooter’s appeal big time. The seat seems to have been covered with premium material. There is resting support for the pillion for enhanced comfort. The side stand of the scooter comes with a side stand sensor that does not allow the vehicle to start when the stand is engaged, which certainly is a useful feature to have in a scooter. Adding to its appeal, there are 12-inch alloy wheels with discs and golden covers for the front telescopic forks. On the convenience front, there is a 19.5-litre under seat storage compartment.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Under the skin, the new Praise has an electric motor that is powered by a 72 Volt/45Ah lead-acid battery, which churns out 3.5bhp power and a massive 40Nm of peak torque. The scooter offers a range of 170 to 200Km on one full charge. The battery can be completely charged in 6 to 8 hours. There are three riding modes: Economy, Sporty and Turbo. In the Economy mode, the scooter can hit a max speed of 35kmph, in the Sporty mode it can do 65kmph and in the Turbo mode, it can go as high as 75kmph according to the company.
Handling & Ride Quality
Okinawa Praise features hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter gets disc brakes at both, front as well as rear. The front features a unique dual disc brake setup while the rear comes with single disc brake.
Features
The Okinawa Praise gets disc brakes on both wheels and tubeless tyres.

- Worst Expirence With The Okinawa
Within the initial 6 months of purchasing the vehicle, the low beam unexpectedly malfunctioned, leading to a replacement after 7 months. However, now, after 2 years, I am grappling with a dead battery issue. Despite a full charge indication, the vehicle fails to start. It has been a month since my vehicle has been at the Okinawa showroom in Whitefield, ITPL branch. Unfortunately, the service has been marked by carelessness and irresponsibility, as different individuals provide conflicting reasons every two days, causing significant delays. Read More

Very excellent, good mileage, security, features, key-less start, back motion, low maintenance, nice looking l
- Very Poor Service
Very poor service, after running 10 km it shows 14 km so that in speed mode it shows 70 km per hour, but actually, it runs 55 km per hour.
- Please Don't waste your valuable money.
On a full charge, it gives mileage of just 20km because of the worst battery and the warranty they had mentioned for Okinawa praise was fully fake and don't believe in their warranty. Please don't buy the Okinawa company's scooter and don't waste your valuable money. We had lost Rs.80000 and there is no refund or resale Or replacement, the company even didn't reply for a single e-mail out those 16 mails we had sent.Read More
- ASSEMBLED PARTS/WORST PRODUCT/AFTER SALE
I purchased Okinawa Praise scooter on 1.12.2018.for Rs.69800/- In start running well. After three months Diggi cracked. After five months one bearing & MCB damaged. Replaced with payment. After seven months, censor and all the six batteries damaged. Replaced after very much struggle. After eleven months, the backside tyre rubbed. They approved tyre replacement on 20.1.2020 because within warranty, but not replaced by the dealer, because they have not received the tyre cost amount from the Company till date. Now the Company has withdrawn their approval. That is the repo and worth of the Company. They have not the amount equal to the cost of tyre. Shameful on their parts to withdrew their APPROVAL. One thing more that after six months from the relaced six batteries damaged again i.e. the newly replaced batteries set runs six months only. At the time of purchase, the dealer assured me that the batteries will run three years. But two sets damaged for 13 months. The new batteries set costs 36000/- with the six-month warranty I .e.the running cost for six months is a 36000/-Rs.6000/-per month. One can't afford such a running cost. So, I with fold handed requested to all, NOT TO BUY OKINAWA scooty, otherwise you will be crying by loosing your hard money. Moreover, the resale value is nil. So think 1000 times to buy their product.Read More
