The upcoming models will be different capacity variants of the Aprilia SR150 but will be based on the same platform.

Italian performance two-wheeler brand Aprilia is going to launch its first ‘Made in India’ scooter in the country on August 22 with an alluring introductory price tag of Rs 65,000. The SR 150 scooter has already been unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in February this year and the company has also commenced bookings at all dealerships across the country. The company is so confident about the success of this model that it is planning to bring two more variants next year.

Yes, Aprilia might introduce two more scooters based on the SR 150's platform. One of these scooters is expected to be unveiled in early 2017, while the other one will come into existence by the end of 2017. These new scooters will be different capacity variants, most probably higher, and will retain the design of the SR 150. However, the company might use some cosmetic alterations and a new paint job for a distinctive appearance. If the engine capacity is slightly higher, the company could use a re-bored version of the existing 155cc engine. It can also source some different engines from sister company Vespa for significantly higher displacement models.

We believe that one of the upcoming scooters could be badged ‘SR300,’ sourcing the 22.3PS engine from the Vespa GTS series. This variant might also get some superior features like digital-analog instrument cluster, beefier front telescopic forks and a rear disc brake. We can't say anything about other upcoming member of the Aprilia SR family until we get any further update. So, stay tuned for more updates on the same.
