Even Aprilia’s smallest supersport seems to pack a punch!

Aprilia India has officially launched the Aprilia RS 457 at India Bike Week (IBW) 2023, at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4,10,000 (ex-showroom Maharashtra). The official launch comes after a teaser was dropped by the manufacturer hinting at a potential launch of the RS 457 at IBW 2023 on social media, followed by a confirmation of the same a few days later.

The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 46.7PS at 9400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6700rpm making it more powerful than its closest rival, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 by 1.7PS and 6.5Nm.

The RS 457 is built on a dual beam aluminium frame that’s suspended by a 41mm inverted fork and a monoshock. The suspension set up offers 120mm wheel travel in the front and 130mm at the rear, with preload adjustability. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110-section front and 150-section rear TVS Eurogrip ProTorq Extreme tyres.

Braking is handled by a 320m floating disc at front with 4-piston radial callipers and a 220mm disc at the rear with 2-piston sliding callipers, with dual channel ABS as standard. The bike has an accessible seat height of 800mm and tank capacity of 13 litres, with kerb weight standing at 175kg.

Coming to features, the RS 457 packs a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity as an option add-on, ride-by-wire throttle, 3 riding modes and 3 levels of traction control.

The bike competes directly with other supersport offerings in the 300-400cc segment such as  KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the upcoming Yamaha R3 which is slated to be launched on December 15th.
