Is the Jawa 42 Bobber a good city bike?
The Jawa 42 Bobber’s 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine has a peaky nature to it and requires frequent gear changes in the city to help it with quick overtakes. Despite the rev-happy nature of the bike, the motor is refined and smooth and is also tractable enough for a decent commuting experience in the city. The gearbox is quite clunky, though. The suspension setup absorbs bumps and potholes in a decent manner despite being on the firmer side and the ergonomics are upright and comfortable. These factors make the Jawa 42 Bobber a decent bike to ride in the city.
Is the Jawa 42 Bobber good for long rides and touring?
The peaky nature of the Jawa 42 Bobber’s engine means it provides great performance at a higher-end of the rev range and reaches speeds of 100kmph without much fuss. Significant vibrations are felt, though, post the 100kmph mark. The sheer performance of the engine is quite exhilarating and overtaking other vehicles on the highway is a breeze. The suspension setup provides a good riding experience on the highway and handles speed bumps and potholes adequately. The riding position is upright and comfortable and the well-cushioned seat will keep your bottom comfortable during those long rides. And the agile handling characteristics tie up the whole package very well to make the Jawa 42 Bobber good for long rides and touring.
Is the Jawa 42 Bobber comfortable?
The suspension setup of the Jawa 42 Bobber is on the firmer side but offers a decently comfortable riding experience. Bumps and potholes can be felt at higher speeds but the experience is not spine-breaking. The well-cushioned seat adds to the comfort quotient of the bike as well. The upright and comfortable ergonomics make it a good bike for long rides but the awkward leg positioning might be an irritant for some riders. All in all, the Jawa 42 Bobber offers a decent comfort level during those long hours on the saddle.
Does the Jawa 42 Bobber get a pillion seat as an accessory?
No, a pillion seat is not available as an accessory on the Jawa 42 Bobber. Bobbers are single-seater motorcycles and the lack of a pillion seat is what this bike is all about.
What features does the Jawa 42 Bobber get?

42 Bobber Expert Review
Overview
The Jawa 42 Bobber is quite a unique bike among other options in the sub-400cc segment. This makes it standout in the market. But does it have what it takes to match its unique positioning and deliver on an everyday basis?
Design
The Jawa 42 Bobber is one of the most stylish bikes in the sub-400cc segment with its true-blue bobber styling. The single-piece seat, tyre-hugging rear fender, ten-spoke alloy wheel design and the blacked-out treatment all over the bike makes it truly standout on the road. The Black Mirror variant’s colour scheme with the chrome fuel tank and stealth black finish is the most premium looking variant of the bike.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Bobber is a smooth and refined unit. It is also quite tractable too. The engine is peaky and offers quick acceleration. Performance at higher speeds and at higher revs is also quite good, which helps in overtaking other vehicles on the highway.
Due to the engine’s peaky nature, you have to keep shifting the gears quite frequently to extract the exhilarating performance from the bike. Also, the gearbox could have been a bit smoother.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Jawa 42 Bobber feels very agile, making it quite easy to manoeuvre in city traffic and on the highway as well. It tips into corners in hilly areas and the highways really well. The brakes offer good feedback and stopping power, providing confidence when you are out on your weekend rides.
Comfort
The current models get a re-tuned monoshock setup with better damping, resulting in a better ride quality overall. Even though you’ll feel all the potholes and speed bumps the bike goes over, the effect is still manageable and not a big deal-breaker. The bike offers an upright, comfortable riding position and the seat is well cushioned, which will keep you comfortable on those long highway rides.
Features
The Jawa 42 Bobber gets all-LED lighting. It has an LCD instrument console with a switchgear on the left side of the handlebar to go through the various information displayed on the console. However, the console is a bit difficult to read under harsh sunlight and it could have gotten better fit and finish quality levels too. The USB charging port is a handy, practical feature.
Should you buy
The Jawa 42 Bobber is a bike with beautiful looks, smooth and exciting performance, agile handling characteristics and quite a comfortable riding experience. It is a good companion for going out on long rides during the weekend. If you are in the market for a bobber under 400cc, then the 42 Bobber is a good option for you.

- One of the master piece of Jawa | Love this bike
Eye catching bike with great looks and comfort. I feel the prize is less as it looks great and similar to triumph bonneville bobber which cost almost 6 times to it. Mileage is little less as compared to RE 350 and ground clearance is less so it need to slow down on pot holes and speed brakers but riding posture is great and ride is super comfortable. Read More
- Worst mileage and worst ground clearance
The bike have nice seating but worst mileage so please think before you buy the jawa boober 42 the bike is fully metal so the build quality is very awesome in the jawa , the bike ground clearance is very low in so it touches in speed break in while cruising in the bike so jawa should increase ground clearance and mileage Read More
