We see how the Activa H-Smart fares against the Scoopy in terms of features

Honda recently launched the Scoopy, a funky-looking retro scooter in Indonesia and it features an engine similar to the Honda Activa 6G, while boasting of quite some features too. So we thought it’d only be fair to put it against the most tech-laden Activa, the Activa 6G H-Smart. Here’s what each one packs:

Smart Key Systems

The newest Activa packed a whole bunch of new features. It gets a smart key that offers a whole range of functions like automatic lock/unlock, engine immobiliser and keyless start. Here’s a lowdown on the new bits:

Smart Find

All the four indicators will flash, letting you know the location of the vehicle (works within 10 metres of the scooter)

Smart Unlock

You can lock and unlock its handle, and also unlock the fuel lid and seat (Works within two metres of the scooter)

Smart Safe

You can turn on your scooter by being simply within two metres of the scooter. If the distance increases, the scooter locks itself automatically. But you can also disable this feature, by pressing the button for three seconds.

Smart Start

Turning the knob and pushing the start button is now all it’ll take to turn on the Activa 6G.

The Honda Scoopy is equipped with a smart key system too. The system comes integrated with the Answer Back System (to find the scooter) and Anti-Theft Alarm to further support security and convenience. A USB charger with a maximum power of 5V, 2.1A on the front apron further boosts practically.

Instrument Consoles

Despite the update, the Activa 6G H-Smart’s console is still a rather simple analogue unit with readouts such as the speedometer, odometer and a fuel gauge.

While the Scoopy’s console too, isn’t a fully-digital one, it still looks a bit more modern and kinda funky than the H-Smart’s. There’s a large speedometer along with a small LCD screen below it, one that shows bits like time, tripmeters, fuel efficiency, engine check warning and a fuel gauge.

Now while the Activa 6G H-Smart’s smart key system can perform a lot more tasks, its instrument cluster does look a bit dated in today’s day and age. While the Scoopy’s console, by no means, is modern, but it goes a lot better with its overall funky design. Time for Honda to soon launch the Activa 7G with a more modern console then? Yes please!
