2016 Auto Expo: DSK-Benelli to Showcase Leoncino Scrambler

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Benelli is all dressed up for the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. Benelli will bring its machines to the Indian market through its partnership with DSK. The Indo-Italian joint venture, DSK-Benelli will unveil one of its kinds Scrambler at the Expo. Named as Leoncino Scrambler, the bike will be on display at the Auto Expo along with some new offerings from Italian bike maker to the Indian market which are Benelli TNT 15, Tornado 302, TNT 400 and TRK 502. It has been already premiered at the 73rd EICMA in Milan.
Leoncino is a retro-style scrambler bike which is designed by CentroStile Benelli and present a perfect match of machines sharp form with harmonious lines. The bike will come with a dual-tone paint scheme. At the front, it will feature an LED DRLs headlight that matches with its completely retro-modern appearance. The retro-styled machine comes with a fully digital instrument console that includes speedometer, trip meter, tachometer, odometer, fuel gauge and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) light. It will also be equipped with the sculpted fuel tank and an Alcantara leather split seat. Coming to the Rear, the scrambler will be fitted with an LED tail lamp and pillion grab rail. Built on an all-new Trellis frame, the bike will come with an overall body measurement of 2100 mm in length, 800 mm in width, 1160 mm in height. It has a seat height of 815 mm and a 15 liters capacity of a fuel tank and it weighs 170 kgs.
Powering the bike is 499.6cc inline, twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine which is mated to a six-speed transmission. It is the same engine configuration that will be used in yet to be launched TRK 502. The fuel injected motor will develop 47bhp of power at 8500 rpm along with a peak torque of 45Nm at 4500 rpm. The mill has a compression ratio of 11.5:1 and a power oriented bore to stroke ratio of 69 mm x 66.8 mm. It will also employ Euro 4 emission norm.
Leoncino Scrambler will be fitted with a tyre size of 110/80 R19 at the front and 150/70 R17 at the rear. The tubeless tyres will be encircled over spoked wheels. In terms of braking, the bike will be loaded with 320mm dual disc brake at the front and 260 mm disc brake at the rear. The suspension duties will be taken care of by Telescopic Forks at the front and Monoshock shock absorbers at the rear.
