TVS Raider 125 Variants Explained

The TVS Raider 125 has recently got two new variants, the Drum and iGO

The TVS Raider 125 is one of the most popular 125cc premium bikes in the market. It is renowned for its enjoyable and fun-to-ride nature. The bike has recently got two new variants: the Drum and iGO. 

With the arrival of these new variants, the TVS Raider 125 is now available in a total of 6 variants: Drum, Single Seat, Split Seat, iGO, Super Squad Edition and the Smart Xonnect Variant. Here’s how they differ from each other:

TVS Raider Drum: Rs 84,869 (ex-showroom)

The TVS Raider Drum is the new base variant. It is available in two colours: Striking Red and Wicked Black. The Drum variant has a single-piece seat. It comes equipped with 130mm drum brakes on both ends, with CBS (combined braking system) as standard.

Feature-wise, the Raider Drum gets a negative LCD instrument console that displays the speedometer, odometer, fuel levels, tripmeter, mileage indicator, gear position indicator, clock and tell tale lights. It misses out on smartphone connectivity features.

The TVS Raider Drum is equipped with a 124.8cc, air and oil-cooled, 3-valve, single-cylinder engine that delivers a peak output of 11.38PS and 11.2Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It gets the same frame, telescopic fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock. With 17-inch wheels on both ends, it has 80-section front and 100-section rear tubeless tyres. It has 180mm ground clearance and 123kg kerb weight.

TVS Raider Single Seat: Rs 95,869 (ex-showroom)

The TVS Raider Single Seat gets all the features, underpinnings and the same engine as the Raider Drum, it even gets the same Striking Red and Wicked Black colour options. However, it differentiates itself in terms of the braking setup which consists of a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear, with CBS. The Raider Single Seat variant costs Rs 11,000 more than the Drum variant.

TVS Raider Split Seat: Rs 97,704 (ex-showroom)

The TVS Raider Split Seat variant as the name suggests, comes with a split-seat setup that gives the bike a slightly more sporty look. It also has a small underseat storage under the pillion seat and a USB charging port. The Raider Split Seat is available in four colours: Fiery Yellow, Blazing Blue, Striking Red and Wicked Black. The rest of the elements remain the same as the Raider Single Seat variant, but is priced at a premium of Rs 1,835, over the single seat variant.

TVS Raider iGO: Rs 98,389 (ex-showroom)

The TVS Raider iGO is the newest variant which was launched recently. It is available only in the Nardo Grey colour scheme. The Raider iGO has the same 124.8cc engine but makes 11.75Nm (0.55Nm more) because of the iGO assist feature which is essentially a starter motor generator. It also gets a ‘Boost mode’, which gives you extra acceleration for a few seconds to make quick overtakes. It shares its features and underpinnings with the Raider Split Seat variant but has a premium of just Rs 685. 

TVS Raider Super Squad Edition (SSE): Rs 1,00,989 (ex-showroom)

For the Marvel Avengers fans, the TVS Raider Super Squad Edition is currently available in Black Panther and Iron Man liveries. The Raider Super Squad Edition is also based on the Raider Split Seat variant and misses out on the iGO assist features. You’ll have to pay Rs 3,285 more to get your bike in the same livery as your favourite superhero. 

TVS Raider Smart Xonnect (SX): Rs 1,04,330 (ex-showroom)

The TVS Raider Smart Xonnect is the range-topping variant that comes loaded with advanced features, including a TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It not only offers call and SMS alerts but also features turn-by-turn navigation with voice assist, sports and weather updates, music control, nearby fuel pump locations, social media updates and more. You can also view the ride report and last parked location on the TVS Smart Xonnect app.

It is available in three paint schemes: Fiery Yellow Forza Blue and Wicked Black. It is available for a premium of Rs 3,341 over the SSE.
