The new Kawasaki Z900 will replace the existing Z800 streetfighter next year in most of the markets, including India

After providing its first look at the INTERMOT fair in Cologne, Germany, Kawasaki has officially revealed the all-new Z900 at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The bike will enter the market sometime next year to replace the existing Z800 as a more powerful and advanced successor. The Z900 gets a completely new design and styling along with a bigger power mill that is surely going to help it compete with products like the Yamaha MT-09

Built on a new steel trellis frame, the Kawasaki Z900 gets design inspiration from its elder sibling, the Z1000. However, it looks much fresher and different from the existing machine. Powering the Z900 is a 948cc, inline-four motor that is based on that of the Z1000. The fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine delivers 125PS of power, which is almost 13PS more than that of the Z800.

The lighter chassis results in a reduced weight and the new Kawasaki Z900 weights around 201 kg, which is an impressive 30kg less than the Z800. The bike also gets a new braking system, comprising of dual 300mm front discs with Nissin four-piston calipers and a single 250mm disc brake at the rear. Along with the ABS, the bike also gets  an assist and slipper clutch as standard features, for safety and convenience. The suspension setup gets 41mm inverted forks with adjustable rebound and preload up front, and the rear monoshock gets the same levels of adjustability as well.

The Kawasaki Z900 is likely to make its entry in the Indian market sometime next year via the CBU route, and replace the Z800, with a slightly higher price tag.
