Jitendra EV has launched their newest electric scooter in India, called the Yunik. The Yunik is priced at Rs 1,24,083 (ex-showroom). It offers retro styling combined with a bit of modern features, including smart accessories. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

The Jitendra EV Yunik features a retro design and styling, which is reminiscent of scooters from the 1960s. It has a round headlight, a curvy apron with metallic highlights in the middle. It gets sculpted body panels, with ‘Yunik’ written on the side. Overall, the e-scooter looks quite good and at first glance, you won’t think it is an EV. It is offered in 5 colours: Eclipse Black, Meadow Green, Dusk Blue, Forest White and Volcano Red.

It gets a 3.8kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 118km. The scooter is powered by an electric hub motor, which offers a claimed top speed of 75kmph. Jintendra EV offers a 5 year/50,000km warranty on the battery pack.

The Yunik has a telescopic fork. It rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels (with tubeless tyres), and also gets disc brakes at both front and rear. The scooter also has 180mm ground clearance. But where the e-scooter really shines is in terms of features. It gets a smart LCD console, with features such as smartphone connectivity via Jitendra EV’s JENi mobile application.

There are some smart accessories on offer as well, including a smart helmet called Yunikrown. The smart helmet will offer bluetooth connectivity for call, music and navigation. Other accessories on offer include Yuniklamp which allows riders to fix their helmet on the scooter when not in use. Then there’s the Yunikcase, a simple detachable bag which can be used to improve storage.

Jitendra EV has announced that they are also planning on launching two variants of the Yunik e-scooter. The two variants will be called Yunik Pro and Yunik Lite, Yunik Pro will likely offer a TFT console with a lot more features. Whereas the Yunik Lite will be a more affordable scooter, with prices starting at Rs 92,000.

The Jitendra EV Yunik will go up against the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and the Ola S1 Pro. The addition of the smart accessories really makes the scooter stand out, and could give the Ather Halo smart helmet some competition.
