The Japanese auto major, Kawasaki, has revealed the 2 special models of 2016 Vulcan S cruiser at AIMExpo in Florida, USA, which have been christened as Cafe and Special Edition (SE). Both the versions will be launched in 2016, joining the new Ninja ZX-10R, ZX-14R (ZZR1400) SE and KLR650 Matrix Camo Grey edition. The new editions of the Vulcan S have received many cosmetic updates, however, there is not any mechanical change in the machines.
The new Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe gets a new custom three-tone paint scheme with a combination of Matte Carbon Grey and Black having Candy Lime Green Stripe running down in the middle of the bike. However, the most noticeable change in the motorcycle is the addition of a semi-transparent fly-screen over the headlamp. The windshield is not only aiding to the looks of the cruiser, but it also improves the comfort by reducing windblast from the rider. The accessory is also available for the existing Vulcan S owners, and they can install it using an additional mounting bracket.
The Vulcan S SE special edition comes with a premium dual-tone paint scheme with Metallic Imperial Blue having Metallic Spark Black Stripe running down in the middle of the bike. The bike gets complimenting Blue pin stripes on the wheels as well. There is no any alteration in the 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan S continues to get power from the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor, which powers the standard version. The motor makes 61bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 62Nm, and it comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The Kawasaki Vulcan S comes equipped with ERGO-FIT technology, offering adjustable footpegs, seat and handlebar options tailor-fit to help suit a wide range of riders. The bike features 41mm telescopic suspension at the front, an offset monoshock suspension setup at the rear, 120/70 R18 section front tyre, 160/60 R17 section rear tyre, dual disc brakes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and much more. The Kawasaki Vulcan S is expected to be launched in India next year and its closest competitors will be Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Hyosung Aquila Pro 650.
