The updated scooter produces 8.1PS @ 7500rpm and a peak torque of 8.7Nm @ 5500rpm
Hero Scooters will be getting the 2017 version of the Maestro Edge in the Indian market soon. The updated model will get a BS-IV compliant engine, new dual-tone body colours along with fresh new graphics and the Always Headlamp On (AHO) function. AHO is a mandatory feature to be added in all new two-wheelers launched this year onwards and the Maestro Edge is the first scooter to be launched with this feature.
The Maestro Edge gets revised power output figures and the tweaked engine now produces 8.1PS @ 7500rpm and a peak torque of 8.7Nm @ 5500rpm compared to the current model which produces 8.4PS @ 8000rpm and a peak torque of 8.3Nm @ 5500rpm.
The new dual-tone colours on the Maestro Edge are along similar lines to the two tones available on the Honda Dio which is targeted at the youth. The bright red and blue colours with a contrasting white headlamp cowl and the matte black front mudguard lend a lively vibe to the scooter. The black alloy wheels also get body-coloured rim stripes.
The scooter now also comes equipped with a disc-brake and faces competition from the Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter. Watch this space for news about the launch and our review of the scooter.
