Thrilling performance at an affordable price is going to get just better for KTM enthusiasts. We are talking about the Duke 390 that has been spied doing test runs in Spain for a while now.

The bike now sports a newly designed tank with integrated scoops that extend all the way to the WP 43mm upside down forks. The tank should now help the rider maneuver the bike better. Talking about the potent 373 cc fuel injected single cylinder engine, power is likely to be bumped up and could be in the range of 45 – 50 bhp with a corresponding remap to the torque curve. The neatly placed underbelly exhaust producing a throaty sound will now be replaced with a conventional side canister as seen in the RC 390 at the EICMA 2015.

KTM has always favored the direct mount rear mono-shock and the trellis frame as a light and strong solution. This will remain unchanged even in the 2017 model. The new model shall meet Euro IV compliance. One could also expect significant updates to the single caliper Brembo brakes upfront. The bike will continue to sport ride-by-wire, slipper clutch and ABS.

We could not get a front view of the bike from the spied images but the headlight cluster seems to be carried forward from the current generation Duke 390 which in our opinion looks very neat and appealing. The rear now sports integrated grab rails followed by a stubby led tail lamp that lends a flowing design to the tail piece and number plate. We are hoping that the rear fitment is now kitted with brushed aluminum that should hopefully reduce the irritating vibrations on the run.

Internationally the bike is slated for launch at the EICMA 2016. Expect to see it in India by mid 2017.
