2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF Image Leaked

Suzuki will launch the new Gixxer SF along with the Gixxer 250 on May 20

• The 2019 Gixxer SF will be styled on the lines of the Gixxer 250.
• We expect the 155cc air-cooled engine to produce a bit more power than the current one.
• The new Gixxer SF is likely to be Rs 5,000 more expensive than the current one. 

Suzuki is all set to launch the highly anticipated Gixxer 250 on May 20. And along with this brand new motorcycle, the Japanese bike maker is also going to launch the 2019 Gixxer SF. 

The 2019 Gixxer SF will get some significant design changes. For starters, it is likely to get the same LED setup as its bigger cousin, the Gixxer 250. It will also get revised fairings and a sharper styling just like the Gixxer 250. While the current Gixxer SF gets a standard handlebar, the new model will feature lower-set clip-on handlebars. Other changes include a split seat and a slightly redesigned rear end. 

It will be powered by the same engine as the current Gixxer SF. The 155cc air-cooled motor produces 14.8PS of power and 14Nm of torque, and is paired to a five-speed gearbox. However, we expect Suzuki to tune the engine for a slight increment in power. The engine is also likely to be BS 6 ready. Braking hardware will consist of disc brakes at both ends and ABS will be offered as standard. In terms of suspension, it is likely to feature the same setup as the current Gixxer SF (a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear), but we expect the rear suspension to be a bit softer than the current one. 

There’s no word on the pricing yet, but looking at the changes that the 2019 Gixxer SF will get, it’s safe to assume that it will command a premium of Rs 5,000 over the current model. This will bring the final asking price to around Rs 1.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). When launched, the new Gixxer SF will go up against the Hero Xtreme 200S, which is priced at Rs 98,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).
